Lawrence Elementary School in 1902.

 Lawrence Elementary School, located in Arvada, began in 1900 as the "Arvada School," the town's first high school. It was renamed Lawrence Elementary in 1955.
Timeline of Lawrence Elementary
1900: The school was established in Olde Town Arvada at Zephyr and Grandview. It served as the city's first two-story schoolhouse and initially offered high school classes.
1920: The Arvada School was converted into a grade school after a permanent high school was constructed.
1955: The name was officially changed to Lawrence Elementary School. By this time, the original building was an elementary school.
Today: The school operates as a neighborhood elementary school within the Jefferson County Public Schools district. Its long history has made it a local landmark in Olde Town Arvada
