still located at 80th Ave. and Simms Street., and other 1/2 is at Camp
Id-Ra-Ha-Je in Bailey, Colorado.
The land was
deeded back to Rufus Belgin on March 13, 1956, and
to Art Belgin on September 24, 1956. The original
Denver View school house had several additions added on to it. The building
also served as a local church where Rev. Reacer
held services.
HISTORY
The school
district was formed because of a disagreement between Charles Davis and Rufus
Belgin, who were both on the District 6 Board of
Directors. Because of this, the school district was split into two parts.
Rufus Belgin, who was the youngest son of Solomon Belgin, gave the new school district a three-acre site
for the new school on August 11, 1904. The stipulation was that once the
school was no longer being used for school purposes, the ownership would
revert back to the Belgin family. The description
of this property is in the north half of the northeast quarter of section 32,
township 2 south, range 69 west.
