Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph B. Armagost of Eckley. Husband of Dewana Nations of Abilene, Texas.

Jack M. Armagost was born at Haxtun, Colorado April 12, 1918 and was killed in action near Rome, Italy February 23, 1944 thus being 25 years, 9 months and 11 days of age.
He spent the first 12 years of his life in Haxtun with his parents, then moving to Eckley where he lived and attended school until called to Army duty in 1941.
In 1942 he was married to Dewana Nations of Abilene, Texas while stationed at a Texas camp and to this union one daughter was born, Cara Jean.
Jack served with the rank of Technical Sergeant with the 157th Infantry of the 45th Division in the African Campaign and then into the Italian offensive where he was killed in action.
Jack was a likeable boy, being loved by all his friends and acquaintances in his home town and by his comrades in the service. A loving husband and a devoted father.
He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph B. Armagost of Eckley, his wife Dewana, now Mrs. Dewana Richardson and his daughter, Clara Jean, age five of Vanport, Oregon, one brother, Mervin, and four sisters, Mrs. Otto Newton, Mrs. Dale Harouff, Mrs. Jimmy Brophy and Rosalide Armagost all of Eckley.
