Roy Jones, a former Kirk boy, lost his life somewhere in the Southern Pacific waters.  We did not hear the particulars concerning his death.  He had been in the navy for some time and lost his life in combat.  The youngest sister, Janet Lee, and the youngest brother, Buddy, received his government insurance.  The Jones family moved here from Kansas a number of years ago.  Both parents died while residents of Kirk. Not long after his mother's death, Roy joined the navy.

Notes: Listed on 1930 Kirk census as Leroy R. Jones age 14.
