Larry Dean Allen, Engineman First Class of the United States Navy, husband of Germaine Allen and son of Mrs. Helen Allen, was born August 26, 1939 in Yuma. He spent his childhood in Yuma and was a graduate of the Yuma High School in 1958.

Larry enlisted in the United States Navy in June of 1958 and served for eight and one-half years. He received his boot camp training in San Diego, California and was transferred to the USS. Ely (PCE 880) which was home ported in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. There he met Germaine Luckow whom he married on June 27, 1959. Since his enlistment he had been stationed overseas in the Far East three different times. Before going overseas he was residing in Long Beach, California. He was sent to Vietnam October 25, 1966 and stationed at Nha Be at the time of his death.

Larry is survived by his wife and three children, Diana, 5, Leary, 3, and Michael, seven months; his mother Helen Allen, formerly of Yuma, now living in San Pedro, California; and his sister, Elaine Taylor, who resides in Montgomery, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father Leary in 1964.
