September 1902 Wray "Mr. Spooner of Ives, Nebraska, who has purchsed the stock of merchandise of Mrs. H. H. Powell and Co. is on the ground and will take possession the first of the week. Mr. Spooner has quite a family of young people we understand."

Jasper Floyd Spooner, 21, married Mozelle May Pettit on Dec 1911 in Benton County, Oregon.

She was a teacher in Oregon in 1910, Jasper B. Pettit 48 Head, Georgia A. Pettit 48 Wife, Thomas Kellogg 22 Boarder, Roy Follansbee 19 Boarder, Mozelle Pettit 18 Daughter, Cecil Pettit 15 Daughter, Ella Pettit 10 Daughter, Murel Pettit 8 Son, and Maraget Pettit 5 Daughter.

In 1920 Yamhill County, J. F. Spooner is 34, Mozelle Spooner 27 Wife, Harold Spooner 7 Son, and Thelma Spooner 4 Daughter.

HAROLD

In 1940 Indianapolis, Indiana, Harold W. Spooner is 41, Aizel C. Spooner 38 Wife, Margaret C. Spooner 18 Daughter, and Virginia N. Fender 17 Niece.

Harold died in Margate, Florida May 14, 1973.


Margaret Spooner Kickliter died May 18, 1986 in Houston, Texas.

ETHEL

August 1916 "Miss Ethel Spooner of Denver is visiting friends in Wray and vicinity, the guest of Mrs. Art Wells and Miss Maud Johnson. Miss Spooner formerly lived in Wray with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Spooner. The father was in the mercantile business."

Ethel May Spooner, 44, married Clarence J. Curtis on January 16, 1932 in Detroit.

November 1905 Wray "Guy Spooner writes down from Longmont to have the Gazette sent to him."

December 1935 "A gentleman by the name of Oscar James called at The Rattler office last Thursday and brought us greetings from Guy Spooner, a former Wray boy, who resided here some thirty years ago. Guy Spooner owns and operates a barber shop in Grand Junction and the gentleman who called to deliver the message from Guy, states that Mr. Spooner is getting along nicely."

One of Hawthorne's most active civic workers, Mrs. Catherine Ruth Spooner, 70, died here Dec. 1 at her home. She had been in failing health in recent months. A native of Fredonia, Kansas, Mrs. Spooner spent most of her life in Colorado, coming here 14 years ago to reside in Babbitt. A member of OES Mt. Grant Chapter No. 34 and Hawthorne Lioness Club, she had worked tirelessly in recent years to obtain a community swimming pool. Following her expressed wishes, family members have asked friends to omit flowers, contributing instead to the swimming pool fund. Mrs. spooner was also very active in Red Cross work. Surviving are her husband, Guy A. Spooner of Hawthorne; a daughter and three sons, Mrs. L. A. Jackson of Babbitt, A.E. Spooner of Grand Junction, Colorado, R.H. Spooner of San Diego and G.E. Spooner of Sun Valley, California. Two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Fern Guiraud of Lone Pine, Mrs. H. E. Nolte of Garden Grove, California, G.E. Mummah of Reno and Dale Mummah of Walnut Creek, and several grandchildren. Married Guy Spooner on 18 Sep 1907 in Multnomah County, OR.

April 1962 "Funeral services were recently held in San Raphael. Calif., for Ross Wells, 49, son of the late Art Wells and Mrs. Guy Spooner of Olympia, Wash., and a nephew of D. E. and Ray Wells and Mrs. Alta Ellis of Wray. Mr. Wells, a Santa Venetia engineer, died March 16 at a San Raphael hospital of lobar pneumonia. He was born at Wray on March 31, 1913, and spent his boyhood in this community. He is survived by his wife Freda and a son and daughter, Jon and Carol Wells, of Santa Venetia: his mother, Mrs. Spooner of Olympia: one brother and three sisters, William Wells of Los Angeles, Mrs Ellen Robbins. Mrs. Eaine Robbins and Mrs. Betty A1wine, all of Olympia."
