In 1910 "Frank" Sylvester was a Republican candidate for justice of the peace
in precinct #5, Yuma County.
Joseph F. Sylvester proved up two quarters in 22 and 27, 5N 47W in 1913.

John and Ethel standing.
John J. Sylvester proved up a quarter in 3, 4N 47W in 1918. He
registered with a Yuma address, saying he was born May 3, 1886.
In 1910 Clare W. Bradburn is a boarder, 15, in the Michael Weekly family.
October 27, 1911 Yuma Pioneer - Ford vicinity news - "Mr. Guy Sylvester and
Miss Clara Bradburn were married in Wray last week. Their many friends all
join in wishing them a happy wedded liie (sic).""

"Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Sylvester left this week for an auto trip to Oxford,
Nebr., where Mr. Sylvester has a brother. From there they will visit at
points in Iowa and Kansas."
Guy proved up a homestead in 27, 5N 47W in 1915.

1915 "Dr. Bilsborrow reports the arrival of a baby boy at the home of Guy
Sylvester, twenty-two miles north of Yuma, on Tuesday, August 3rd."
He registered in Yuma, saying he was born October 9, 1883, and his nearest
relative was Clara.
He's probably the Sylvester playing third base for the Ford team in 1911
In 1920 Yuma County Guy, 36 and Clara E. 25 Indiana have Ethel R. 7,
and Loyd G. 4, both Colorado.
In 1930 Guy, Clara, Ethel, Loyd are in Crook - Logan County - about forty
miles straight north. They've added Dorothy J. 5,
In 1940 Ethel is gone, and Guy, Clara, Lloyd, and Dorothy Jean, with Stanley,
8, are in Buffalo County, Nebraska, where Guy is operating a filling station.
and Lloyd is a "case visitor for county assistance."
Guy died in 1958, Clara in 1966

In 1920 Yuma County Joseph F. 66 and Ceola 61 Sylvester are living alone.
In 1930 Joseph F. 76 and Ceola V. 71 Sylvester are in Franklin County,
Nebraska.
In Franklin County, Nebraska - Greenwood Cemetery are "Leola" Sylvester,
buried December 4, 1931, and Joseph F. Sylvester 1945. The note in the
cemetery records for Joseph says "Shipped from Hastings Hospital."

John J. Sylvester, son of Frank Sylvester and Ceola Johnson, married
Sylvia Jane Petty May 5, 1907 in Woodland, Decatur County, Iowa.. She was
the daughter of "All" Petty and Rosea Ward.
John and Sylvia, married two years, are in Magee precinct in 1910.
John and Sylvia are in Magee precinct in 1920, with Zelma J. 9.
They're in Franklin County, Nebraska in 1930, with "Thelma", now 19.
John J. 1886-1970 and Sylvia J. Sylvester are buried in Loveland Lakeside.
Thelma J. Schaefer, born Dec 20, 1910 in Colorado - father Sylvester, mother
Petty, died May 29, 1995 in Shasta County, California.

There were two William H. Johnston land claims in Yuma County, one north of
Wray, this one in sections 1 and 2, 4N 47W - a mile west of the Pleasant Valley
church, where William, Myrtle, and their children Jennie, Wayne, Dwight, and
Ella (Johnston) Kipp are buried.
In 1880 Wayne County, Iowa, A.W. Johnson is 46, Elisabeth 42, Flora L. 15,
Leroy D. 13, Clara E. 11, Roda G. 9, Mary A. 7, Addie E. 4, and William Henry
six months.

In 1900 Wayne County, Martinus H. Sprague is 36, Clara E. 31, with Golda F.
2, brother William H. 20, and William Sprague 66.
In 1910 Wayne County H.M. 45 and Clara 41 have Ferm 12 and a servant
Ottis Smith, 16.
M.H. Sprague died in 1917, and is buried in the Clio cemetery, Wayne County.
In 1920 Clara, 51, widowed, born in Ohio, is living with daughter Goldie F.
22, and her husband Charley G. Bracewell, 26, and daughter Levena 3, all
three born in Iowa.
Clara, born 1868, died 1927, and is buried in Clio cemetery, Wayne County.
Charley and Fern have moved back to Iowa in 1930, where Charles is a salesman
for a dairy.

Calvin was a witness for the 1909 land claim of Elma Roberts.
In 1910 Calvin is 35, Elizabeth H. 34, both born in Ohio, with Walter H.3 and Calvin C. 1.

1912 "C.H. Casey butchered four fine hogs Monday, being assisted by
Messrs. Eyestone and Cabeen."
1913 Christmas entertainment at Waverly Hall included recitations by Walter
Casey and Carl Casey.
Calvin H. Casey proved up a quarter in 11, 3N 47W - a few miles from the
William Johnston and Sylvester claims, in 1914.
1914 "Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Casey returned last evening from Hot Springs, South
Dakota, where Mrs. Casey had been for several weeks receiving treatment in a
hospital"
Elizabeth H. Porter was born in Perry, Pickaway County, Ohio on Sept, 18,
1875 to Joseph H. and Francis F. Porter.
In 1903 Elizabeth "Lizzie" Porter was united in marriage to Calvin H. Casey. To
this union four children were born, Walter H., Calvin C., Marjorie M. and Hubert
R. Casey.
On April 10, 1914, after a long illness, Lizzie passed away at home, in Yuma,
Colorado.

Calvin Casey married Anna Pagel Dec 27, 1914, recorded in Yuma County.
Anna M. (Pagel) Casey 1890-1917 is buried in Yuma.

1915 Waverly news items "Cal Casey is picking corn for F.G. Dunkin."
Calvin Herman Casey registered in Yuma , born June 10, 1874, farming by
himself, nearest relative son Walter.
In 1920 Yuma County Cal is widowed, 46, born in Ohio, with Walter H. 13, Carl
C. 11, Marjorie M. 9, Herbert H. 7, and Esther M. 3.

1924 Waverly items "Cal Casey is hauling gravel for a new house."
In 1930 Yuma Ester is 13, with grandparents Albert and Mary Pagel.
December 1936 "Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Csey of Loveland spent the week end with Cal Casey and Jim Brophy." "Carl Casey, who has been employed at Satsop, Washington, the past few years, came home for a visit with his father and other relatives."
March 1937 "Cal Casey left via bus Monday for a visit with his daughter Mrjorie and relatives at Columbus, Ohio."
This must be Daisy E. (Atkinson) Casey 1877-1958 buried in Eustis, Nebraska.
July 7, 1966 "The relatives and friends of Cal Casey, a former resident of the Waverly community, received word that he had passed away at the age of 82 years in a nursing home in Nebraska, Wednesday."
1940 Yuma Ester M. Casey, 23, is with grandmother Mary Pagel, 72.
Hubert /Herbert died 1943
Esther M. Frenzl - Feb 1, 1917 - May 9, 1989 is buried in Saint Joseph,
Akron, Colorado, on a stone with Frank J. 1912-1985.

Dec 1899 are farming. Ivan Oral Casey was born Dec 3, 1899 in Jefferson
township, Wayne County to Geo A. Casey and Addie E. Johnston.
On the same page is widowed Esther Casey, born Feb 1846 with three kids, and
John Casey Dec 1841 Pennsylvania and Ella Apr 1859 Iowa, with a lot of
kids. They include Myrtle, Guy, and Gerald - all names in the Johnston /
Sylvester families.
In 1910 Wayne County Iowa, George A. Casey is 34, born in Iowa, with Ella 33
Iowa, and Ivan O,., 10 Iowa.
George Arrowsmith Casey registered in Yuma, born July 5, 1876, a clerk at
Farmers Implement in Yuma, with nearest relative Ivan Oral Casey, son, of Yuma.
Ivan Oral Casey also registered in Yuma, born Dec 3, 1899, and was working
for Hoch Lumber in Yuma, with father George as his nearest relative.
