Silt Colorado

December 1894 the original Harvey Gap reservoir was finished. The dam failed in March 1895 I believe. There was a farm called Blue Ribbon Farm at the base of the gap that was basically destroyed due to the amount of rocks and debris covering the fields. The name came about when they went to the World’s Fair and won several blue ribbons for crops. There are several articles on it at the Silt Historical Park. It was rebuilt much larger about 12 years later. Completed in 1906.
