CAPTION:
This photo taken in front of Evans School, 12th & Acoma,
Denver 1912. The family lived in the school, and had their own
yard and garden; my grandmnother Jo was born in the school. It is
still standing, but boarded up and not in good shape.

Evans School at 11th & Acoma Streets, which has been closed for many, many years. In the racing photo (left), the boy nearest to the camera is Alex Gallegos.
In the girls photo, the 2nd row, far right, is Shirley LaRue Bristow (with pigtails) and I'm right next to her. In the bottom row, far left, is Mary Ann Braynard. So sorry I can't remember the names of everyone.
I attended Evans from K through 6th, still have my ancient report cards!. . . and have lots of good memories.

Morey Junior High School East 14th Avenue, Denver, 1951. Ninth
Grade Class. My mother, Barbara Dawson, is at right, 2nd row,
between the two boys in argyle sweaters. Autographs on the back
