Scarlett, 84, died Sunday, September 5, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Lena Scarlett of Bacliff, TX; son, Robert Michael Scarlett and wife, JoAnn of Madras, OR; daughter, Patricia Clydell Gilbert of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Dwayne and Michelle, both of Oklahoma, Vance and Terri, both of Albuquerque, Vince, Shan, Renee, Trinie and Katie, all of Madras, OR; and 14 great-grandchildren. Clyde was preceded in death by his first wife, Glory Lorraine Scarlett, December 15, 1968. The life of this man was long and strong What he learned in his youth Of the ways of nature Of the nature of man He lived in the ways of his loving The spirit of this man will be Remembered quietly By those he loved Who loved in return His smiling eyes, story-making His voice, soft-telling The ways of right His examples, teaching, Of his love spilling over And washing the lives Of Glory and Lena Mike and Clydell And to our children it flowed and to our childrens' children. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE [Albuquerque, NM].
