To Former K.C.H.S. Boys and Other Kit Carson Boys in
Service:
Greetings and Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
May Another Yuletide find you back with us, Your mission
completed.
The idea of this letter originated in late 1942 from our desire to do something special for each of our many former students and Kit Carson friends in the service. By having the list of addresses they might correspond with their former pals and might know where each was located. The first letter was sent out early in December of that year. So many appreciative responses were received that the letter was repeated last year. Again the responses were many and appreciative. This fall a number have asked if a 1944 letter would be sent out. It makes us feel that a real service is being rendered our boys.
Although we have been unable to correspond with the many of you who have written us at Christmas and throughout the year, we think of you and keep in touch with you as much as possible through your relatives and friends.
The school children and relatives and friends of service men have helped splendidly. Without their aid the list of addresses would be impossible. We want you to know that this letter brings you the greetings and best wishes of the school, its teachers and its pupils, and of every one in this community. We fear with your fears. We sympathize in your hardships. We glory in your achievements. We hope that we can carry on at the home front while you carry on so splendidly at the battle front.
May God bless you and keep you and bring you safly back is our prayer.
Sincerely
Mr. and Mrs. L. G. BLACK
