This photo was mailed to: The Rev. Dr. DeMotte who was once
a Methodist Minister here in Pagosa Springs, it was postmarked
May 11, 1908.
Dr. DeMotte organized the Methodist church here in Pagosa
Springs.
The Writing on the bottom is difficult to read but says:
"PRIDE OF THE
ROCKIES" - Rev. Vermillions Class. M. E. Sunday School
Palisades, Colo.
1908.
The reverse reads:
"I and Glenn start for Pagosa today by buggy. Mrs. Ver and
Golda start Wednesday on Train. Will reach there last of this
week. Had a good day yesterday took 16 new members into the
Church and received 5 from (?)probations. I have 137 members
enrolled in my Sunday School Class.
had 93 present last Sunday. Regards to Mrs. DeMotte. John Q.
Vermillion"
Rev. Vermillion was also a Methodist Minister here in Pagosa
Springs.
