Manzanola Cemetery (K-Z), Manzanola, Otero County, Colorado http://files.usgwarchives.net/co/otero/cemeteries/manzlakz.txt Contributed by Betty Pennington May 30, 2001 The quarter where Manzanola Cemetery is located was deeded to the town of Manzanola in 1903 for use as a cemetery in a patent from the BLM to Jasper N. Beaty, Mayor, (etal). The cemetery is reached by going west out of Manzanola on Hwy 50 about 1/2 miles, turn south on County Road 11 and go about 2 miles south. The cemetery lies on the west side of the road and is owned by the town of Manzanola. The cemetery was walked and tombstones recorded by Gary & Dianna Hendren and transcribed by Betty L. Pennington. Stella Pennington assisted with the project. Burial dates, block & lot numbers were obtained from the Manzanola Town Clerk's records. Names, birth and death dates are exactly as on the stones. Updated 1/2002- per Betty Pennington I received the following addition for the Mountain View cemetery in Manzanola. The data came from Gladys Rumbo, a step daughter of Minnie Izora Bradshaw: Mattics b 7/23/1897; d 1/5/1933. Her grave was marked by a simple wooden cross with no inscription but the family has recently placed a marker.
