Christopher and Emma (Homrighaus) Vannida, 6 South 46 West



In 1880 Marion County, Indiana, Philip Vannida is farming, 68 born in Germany, with Christina 57 born in Baden. Philip J. 36 Ohio, his wife Emma 28 Indiana, Daniel 28 Ohio, George 20 Indiana, Christian 19, and Birdie 2 - probably Philip's son.

In 1880 Ringgold County, Iowa, Louis and Amelia "Homreglaus" are both 31, Emma 4, Anna 3, Amelia 2, and Lesa newborn.

In 1885 Atchison County, Kansas, Philip Sr. is 72, living with Philip Jr. 41. Dan is 32, George 28, Chris 22, and Christine 60.

In 1885 Ringgold County, Iowa, Luis "Homrighausen" and Amelia are 36, Emma 9, Anna 7, Amelia 6, Elizabeth 5, Charly 4, Mina 3, and Luie 1.

Emma Homrighaus and Christ Vannida married in Colorado on July 19, 1894, clergyman F. L. Wiegert.

In 1900 Denver, Christopher is a janitor, born August 1861 in Indiana, married five years to Emma March 1876 Iowa. Ernest was born April 1897 in Colorado.
Ernest is also listed in Yuma County in 1900, grandson of Louis Homrighaus Sept 1848 and Amelia February 1848, both born in Germany. Amelia Apil 1878 Charlie January 1881, Minie Sept 1882, and Louis March 1884 wee all born in Iowa.


January 25, 1902 " Mrs. Emma Vanida, nee Homrighaus, returned to her home in Denver.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, Christopher is 49, Emma 34, Ernest 13 and Esther 9.

1913 Kirk items in the Wray Rattler "Charley and Oscar Amy spent Sunday with Ernest Vannida."

In 1920 Kit Carson County, Christoper and Emma are farming, with Ernest 22, Esther 18 and Clarence 4.

Christopher proved up 300 acres in section 6, 6S 46W in 1917, and another 34 acres in section 7 in 1920.
In 1930 Kit Carson County, Christopher and Emma have only Clarence, and in 1940 they're alone.
Ernest works in an automotive factory in Oakland, Michigan in 1930, single.


Chris 1861-1953 is buried in Stratton, # 46478719, with Emma M. 1876-1964

Ester A. Vannida married Victor A. Heintz in Stratton on December 18, 1924.
Esther is married to Victor Heintz, 35, farming in Kit Carson County, with Evelin 4.
She's buried in Stratton 1901-1986 # 75440924, with Victory A. Heintz 1890-1985.
Evelyn might be the Evelyn E. Heintz, born about 1925, who married Irving H. Buckminster in Santa Clara County, California January 16, 1982.


ERNEST
In 1965 "The Ernest Vannidas entertained the August Bohls of Phillipsburg, Kansas and the Lloyd Harveys of Norton Kansas. The ladies are sisters of Mrs. Vannida."

December 3, 1970

"Joyce Vannida of St. Francis, Kansas spent the week end with parents, the Ernie Vannidas."

December 31, 1970 "Joyce Vannida and Raymond Helling were married in Saint Francis.. plan to be a home to their friends after January 4 at their traile house about two miles east of Idalia."

Clarence, born June 23, 1915, died June 20, 1995. He's also buried in Stratton, # 75528861.

December 28, 1993 "Freda Anna Harvey, 88, Greeley, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1993, at the Northern Colorado Medical Center, Greeley. Mrs. Harvey was born Freda Anna Voigt on Nov. 7,1905, at Republican City, Neb., and was a former resident of Bastings, Neb., McCook, Neb., Santa Monica, Calif., and Norton, Kan. She taught rural schools, worked at J.C. Penney, W.W. Virtue, Singer Sewing Machine, and Sears Roebuck and Co. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd of the home; a daughter, Marlene Wilmot of Greeley; two sisters, Sylvia Bicks of Plainville, Kan., and Margarette Vannida of Stratton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the Enfield Funeral Borne, Norton, the Rev. Jack Kersenbrock officiating. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery."
